Assessment Resources
- The Visual Experience, Chapters 11, 12, 13 [Textbook].   Introduction to media; 2 - D media; 2-D media. Look at transparencies of artist's work and discuss. Example: The Eye of Silence by Max Ernest and The Persistence of Memory by Salvador Dali. How have the artists used the same medium to create different effects? Video: Computers as an art tool.
- The Visual Experience, Product design [Textbook].   Students will discuss chapter 11. How the medium selected by the artist helps to express the idea. They will then select multimedia to create an art work and discuss if the process selected best communicated the idea the student wished to express. Create a product design on the computer: t shirt, product label, billboard.
  
    Visual arts & other disciplines
The learner will be able to compare and/or identify the materials, technologies, media, processes, and purposes of the visual arts with those of other disciplines and other cultures.

Instructional Resources
- Activity, Instruction on safety [Student].  Emphasize art safety in the classroom. Talk about safety when using sharp tools such as X-acto knives, scissors, compass, and linoleum cutters. Using safe materials is important as well. For example, use water based paints only, not oil paint, spray paint or turpentine without adequate ventilation.
