Use Language of Art
The learner will be able to examine art and communicate ideas and feelings using the language of art which shall include art elements and principles.

Skills: Media and Processes
The learner will be able to explore skills associated with media and processes including, but not limited to, color mixing, tearing, folding, and gluing.

Parallels: Art of Students & Artists
The learner will be able to distinguish parallells (i.e. elements, principles, themes, culture, material, processes and methods) between art created by students and artists from different times and places.

Examples of art from daily life
The learner will be able to discover examples of how people use art in their daily lives, in the work place, and within the community.

|
Careers in Art
The learner will be able to explore careers in art.

|
Art examples and resources: technology
The learner will be able to discover and record through technology (computer, video, photocopier, camera, and/or overhead, etc.) a variety of art examples and related resources.

Health and safety standards
The learner will be able to identify, practice, and follow health and safety standards in the use of tools, materials, and processes.

|
Responsible Practices: Environment
The learner will be able to recognize and appy responsible practices (reduce/reuse/recycle) to protect the natural/man-made environment.

Relationship Art & other disciplines
The learner will be able to investigate the relationship among the arts and other disciplines.

Creative Problem solving
The learner will be able to use creative problem solving, critical thinking skills, and various resources to select subject matter, symbols, and ideas to communicate meaning.

The learner will be able to transfer ideas and feelings to others through original works or self-expression using art elements and principles.

The learner will be able to produce art works to demonstrate an understanding of the various purposes for creating (aesthetic, functional, historical/cultural, therpeutic and/or social).

The learner will be able to create art works based upon previous explorations/discoveries that demonstrate the relationships between art and culture.
