The Poyen Board of Education met in Regular session on Monday, July 19, 2004 in the boardroom.
A motion was made by Lester Webb and seconded by Tommy Moore to accept the milk bid from Coleman Dairy for the 2004-2005 school year. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Tommy Moore and seconded by David Phillips to accept the bread bid of Flowers Baking Co., which includes delivery to the school, for the 2004-2005 school year. Motion carried.
A motion was made by David Phillips and seconded by Lester Webb to approve the attached inventory deletion list. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Lester Webb and seconded by Tommy Moore to approve the certified and classified handbooks for 2004-2005. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Tommy Moore and seconded by Lester Webb to approve the payroll deduction resolution of Tim and Kim Turner to purchase years of service from ATRS. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Lester Webb and seconded by David Phillips to employ Brad Newton as Technology Coordinator/paraprofessional for the 2004-2005 school year.
His salary is to follow the teacher salary schedule. Motion carried.
A motion was made by David Phillips and seconded by Tommy Moore to approve the legal transfer of Patricia Dockery. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Tommy Moore and seconded by David Phillips to allow the superintendent to interview and employ an architect for the high school project to be voted on in the September election. Motion carried.
The board discussed the cafeteria kitchen project, music project, and stage/dugout projects.
The next board meeting is scheduled for August 12, 2004.
