The Poyen Board of Education met in Regular session on Tuesday, May 4, 2004 in the boardroom.
A motion was made by Tommy Moore and seconded by Kathy Gravitt to accept the legal transfer of the children of Tammie Kersey. Motion carried.
A motion was made by David Phillips and seconded by Nathan Goodman to accept the resignation of Mrs. Kimberley Fuell effective May 21, 2004. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Lester Webb and seconded by David Phillips to accept the audit report for 2003 after review. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Kathy Gravitt and seconded by Nathan Goodman to give the superintendent authority to hire a teacher. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Tommy Moore and seconded by Kathy Gravitt to hire Stephens Inc. to handle the financial aspect of the building project. Motion carried.
The board met with Mr. Ray Beardsley to view his presentation for the financial aspect of the building project.
The board met with Mr. Carey Smith to view his presentation for the financial aspect of the building project.
The board discussed purchasing land across the highway but decided against the purchase.
The board meeting adjourned at 10:00 p.m. The next board meeting is scheduled for June 10th.
High school graduation is Friday, May 14, at 7:00 p.m. and elementary graduation is Tuesday, May 18, at 7:00 p.m.
