The Poyen Board of Education met in regular session on October 6, 2005 in the boardroom.
A motion was made by Tommy Moore and seconded by Kathy Gravitt to accept the resignation of Brad Newton as bus driver for the Leola route due to his move from the Leola area. He requested to be considered for another route if one becomes available. Motion carried.
A motion was made by David Phillips and seconded by Tommy Moore to hire William Webb as a full time driver for the Leola route. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Kathy Gravitt and seconded by David Phillips to approve the 2005-2006 Equity Compliance Report. Motion carried.
A motion was made by David Phillips and seconded by Kathy Gravitt to authorize Mr. Newton to plan a faculty & staff Christmas party. Motion carried.
The board discussed the construction progress of the new high school building, the Supreme Court ruling on the Lakeview case, the facility grant to work on the existing high school building ($84,277.13), and the new board member workshop scheduled for Oct. 18.
