The Poyen Board of Education met in regular session on Tuesday, August 22, 2006 in the boardroom.

A motion was made by Kathy Gravitt and seconded by Lester Webb to approve the July 13th board minutes and the July revenue and expenditure report. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Lester Webb and seconded by Nathan Goodman to accept the resignation of Sonya Bentley and to employ DeAndra Spivey for the cafeteria position. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Nathan Goodman and seconded by David Phillips to adopt the resolution for the county election commission to hold the election in the most economical manner. Motion carried.

A motion was made by David Phillips and seconded by Kathy Gravitt to adopt the resolutions for Star Construction/Dennis Emerson and Webb Hauling/William Webb to allow work for Poyen School. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Lester Webb and seconded by Nathan Goodman to employ J. Parker Nash as teacher/coach for 2006-2007. He must meet all requirements for Arkansas Dept. of Education certification. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Nathan Goodman and seconded by David Phillips to approve the attached inventory deletion list. Motion carried.

The board discussed the public meeting to be held September 7 at 7:00 p.m. in the library. Board member workshop will be Oct. 17 at the Embassy Suites in Little Rock. The board also discussed construction projects.
