The Poyen Board of Education met in regular session on Thursday, August 9, 2007 in the boardroom.
A motion was made by Kathy Gravitt and seconded by Lester Webb to approve the July financial report and July minutes. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Tommy Moore and seconded by David Phillips to employ Jessica Taylor as a teacher for 2007-2008. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Nathan Goodman and seconded by Kathy Gravitt to accept the milk bid from Coleman Dairy and the bread bid from Interstate Brands Corp. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Lester Webb and seconded by Tommy Moore to approve the 2006-2007 Annual Financial Report & 2007-2008 Budget. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Tommy Moore and seconded by David Phillips to add the speech pathology position to stipend increase for National Board Certification. An additional $1500 per year when all required paperwork is turned in before the beginning of school. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Tommy Moore and seconded by David Phillips to accept the resignation of Diana Layrock, HIPPY instructor. Motion carried.
A motion was made by David Phillips and seconded by Lester Webb to set the date for the Public Meeting for September 18, 2007. Motion carried.
